How To Properly Use PPE During the COVID-19 Pandemic?
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is growing in the US, and health care systems have become overwhelmed. Preventing the spread of the coronavirus infection relies on the effective use of personal protective equipment in the United States (PPE), such as face masks, medical-grade gloves, respirators, face shields, and gowns.

Here are some tips on when and how to properly use PPE.
Who Needs PPE
Patients with Confirmed or Possible SARS-CoV-2 Infections
Healthcare Personnel and Workers In Contact With the General Public
How to Put On (Don) PPE Gear
There may be more than one donning method that is acceptable, but training and practice using your personal protective equipment are critical. Below is one example of donning.
Identify and Gather the Proper PPE to Don
Ensure Gown Size Is Correct
Perform Hand Hygiene Using Soap or Hand Sanitizer
Put On Gown and Tie All Ties of the Gown
Put on N95 (or higher) Filtering Respirator (use a facemask if a respirator is not available)
Respirator/Facemask Should be Extended Under Chin - Both your mouth and nose should be protected.
Put On Face Shield or Goggles
Ensure That the Respirator and Face Shield or Goggles Do Not Interfere With Each Other
Put On Gloves - Gloves should cover the cuffs of the gown.
